Allergy & Immunology

An allergy indicates the means by which the immune system responds to the introduction of a foreign substance (Allergen) to the body. Allergens include, certain types of food, pollen and even pet dander, and the corresponding response may include inflammation, and sneezing amongst a host of reactions. It is the function of the immune system to fight against foreign substances, which are called allergens.

Thus, the immune system is in place, in order to defend the body against such harmful pathogens. Our Department of Immunology carries out its operations with the aid of Phadias ImmunoCAP, a reputed allergy testing system from Thermo Fisher Corporation of Sweden.
